But did you know that some of that beautiful and pricey jewelry were formerly Princess Diana's?
William and Harry's late mother had loads of impressive jewelry. Although she never got to meet her daughters-in-law, Kate and Meghan, before she died in 1997, she bequeathed her jewelry box to them.
Before her death, Princess Diana prepared a letter of wishes in which allocated all her jewelry to her sons so that their wives may have and wear them some day. However, some pieces went back to the Queen's estate while others were sold at auction.
Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle certainly look adorable in their mother-in-law gifts. They both wear engagement rings from Princess Diana's jewelry box, and it fits them perfectly.
Prince William was the first to fulfill his late mother's wishes when he proposed to Kate Middleton, in 2010, and gifted her with his mother's engagement ring.
The iconic sapphire jewel is surrounded by 14 solitaire diamonds and set in 18-carat white gold.
Although Princess Diana had just one engagement ring, Prince Harry still made sure his engagement ring to his wife, Meghan, was also from his mother's jewelry box.
Therefore, the Prince gave Meghan a special aquamarine ring which had been previously gifted to Diana to wear in place of her own engagement ring after her divorce to Prince Charles in 1996.
Meghan first wore the ring in public on her wedding day as she and Harry headed to their wedding evening party, hosted by Prince Charles. Also, she had the ring with her on the couple's royal tour to Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand.
Kate Middleton often wears another of Princess Diana's jewelry, a set called ‘Saudi Suite’, which includes a watch, earrings, a bracelet, ring and diamond necklace.
Prince William gifted Kate the earrings shortly after their engagement. Interestingly, the Duchess of Cambridge has made her own tweak and wears them in a drop style.
Recently, Meghan Markle looked adorable in a pair of butterfly earrings and gold bracelet that once belonged to Princess Diana. She wore them on the first day of her tour with her husband, Prince Harry, in Sydney.
One thing is for sure, Princess Diana was never short of sapphire. Now that her sons are married, and their wives are going to accompany them to more formal events, we hope to see more beautiful pieces from Princess Diana’s jewelry collection on both Kate and Meghan.
