A family is the most sacred institution, especially for the Royals. That is why they keep honouring the late Princess Diana's memory and make sure her legacy lives on. Meghan Markle is no exception.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they were expecting their first child in October 2018 and, shortly after that, they kicked off their Australian tour. Then, fans noticed that mom-to-be Meghan Markle chose to make a statement with her choice of jewellery for the occasion.
The Duchess stepped out in a gorgeous white dress and she accessorised it with a pair of butterfly earrings which were previously worn by Prince Harry's late mother, Princess Diana.
The Princess of Wales dazzled in these same jewels when she went on a trip to Canada with Prince Charles, back in 1986. This was about a year and a half after Diana gave birth to Prince Harry.
Meghan also paid a tribute to Diana by wearing one of her mother-in-law's bracelets, which featured lovely blue stones.
This wasn't the only time she wore certain jewellery for special occasions to honour the memory of the mother-in-law she never met. On her wedding day, the Duchess stunned everyone with an aquamarine cocktail ring, which once belonged to Diana, during her wedding reception.
That lovely ring stood out beautifully against Meghan's white Stella McCartney reception dress.
In addition, Meghan Markle's engagement ring, which was given to her by Prince Harry, also featured two diamonds from Diana's personal collection. While explaining how much that meant to her during their engagement interview, Meghan revealed that she wanted Diana to be "a part of this with us."
It looks like Harry and Meghan are not done looking for subtle ways to honour the memory of Princess Diana. And it's pretty sweet to see.
