When couples are expecting, one of the first things they think about is whether the baby will be a boy or a girl. In many cases, the woman may undergo an ultrasound later in the pregnancy to know for sure.
However, in cases where the couple chooses to wait, or are keeping the gender a secret, people tend to hazard a guess, and they naturally rely on some superstitions to guess the gender.
These superstitions are as old as time itself and are a pretty fun way to guess a baby's gender. And for the royal couple's fans, who are excitedly anticipating the announcement of Baby Sussex's birth, they may try and place a guess based on these signs.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not revealed the gender of their baby to the public, but this hasn't stopped people from speculating.
These old wives' tales are based on a lot of things, including the size of the baby bump and the visible changes in the mom's body.
Parents Magazine editor-in-chief Liz Vaccariello sat down with PeopleTV to share her own view and hazard a guess at the royal baby's gender. Vaccariello said that one can tell a lot by how a pregnant woman carries the baby.
She explained that if the mom-to-be is carrying high, it could be a girl; if she's carrying low, then it's likely to be a boy. While referring to some of Meghan's pictures, Vaccariello stated:
I see high. To me, that is a high belly.
So basically, if you choose to believe the theory, you could guess that Meghan is having a baby girl.
Of course, these superstitions are not scientifically proven. In many cases, they are just something fun for people to play around with.
Whether the baby is a boy a girl, it's safe to say the world will be happy for Harry and Meghan either way. But if you had to make a guess based on old wives' tales, would you say the Duchess will have a baby son or daughter?
Motherhood may require you to learn some fun skills, including sewing. This video shows a pretty cool idea to attempt.
