Childbirth is one of the most unique experiences women can have. Also, it is one of the most severe pain they have to bear.

Without a doubt, experience may vary from person to person. Some women describe it as “the worst menstrual cramp», “a deep internal "pulling" or the feeling of their hips being torn apart.

Yet, men don’t often seem to believe it is so bad. Women exaggerate, they say. These two men decided to participate in an experiment so that they could feel the pain of labour.

The electrodes attached to them could provoke pain ranged from 1 to 10 to cause the simulation of contractions, and then labour itself. Those poor men didn’t know what they’d agree on.

As the pain stopped, both men revealed that it was much worse than they had expected.

It was horrible.

Mom, is anything that I have just experienced anywhere close to what I did to you all those years ago, I am sorry. You’re like a superhero!

The only difference with what these men felt and what women really experience during childbirth is the following: a woman’s body is designed to have babies, therefore, during the labour, it releases certain hormones to help.

Beta-endorphin works as a natural pain-killer, while oxytocin helps the uterus to contract. A high level of oxytocin is also the reason for feeling euphoria and receptiveness to the baby. This is why women keep having more children no matter the pain they have to go through during labour. This law of nature is the reason why our kin keeps multiplying.
