Children are known to be more trusting than adults and this is one of the reasons why we, as parents, insist on teaching them all about stranger danger. However, not all strangers are bad. In this particular case, a boy's encounter with a stranger was so inspiring that his aunt had to share.
An unexpected kindness
In a Facebook post that has gone viral, Star Balloon-Bradley narrated how her nephew hit it off with a woman he had never met before. She and Isiah were at a football game when the boy simply got up and walked over to where the lady was sitting.
The boy sat on her lap and Star could see them talking like they were old friends. Two weeks later, Isiah spotted the woman again at another game and she waved to him. The boy got up and, again, and went to meet the lady. This time around, their interaction was much different.
Isaiah walked right up to her smiling, crawled in her lap and laid his head down on her shoulder. She welcomed him with open arms. This lady patted and rocked Isaiah to sleep like she had given birth to him. It was the sweetest!
The aunt was mortified at first and worried that the stranger would be uncomfortable with the boy's action. But when she asked the woman if she wanted Star to come to get the boy, the sweet lady refused, insisting that both she and Isiah were absolutely fine the way they were.
Star was incredibly touched by this lady's action.
With all of the racial tension that’s going on I’m glad to see the pictures like these because it goes to show color don’t matter to a lot of people. It really don’t !!
A message of gratitude
Star shared her earlier post in order to appreciate the stranger whose name she did not even know at the time. However, she posted a later update saying she had found out who the woman was and her name is Mrs. Angela.
She also went on to repost Angela's message where the woman expressed how touched she was by Star's story and the reactions from others.
I am humbled by the kind words everyone has spoken. Isaiah is absolutely adorable! I pray people will Jesus in all this & know His love is beyond measure & that is how I want to love & life my life. I’m not worthy but He sure is!
Social media reacts
The story touched so many people that it received over 300,000 shares. Some people commented on Star's post with positive words and many agreed that, indeed, there are still wonderful people in the world who look past color and race.
Star's story is really awesome and it's nice to see that Isiah's trusting nature turned out to be so inspiring.
