Responsibilities can sometimes be heavy and tasking, taking all the strength and energy we’ve got.
Even as adults, family duties drain us. How about a 20-year old girl carrying the burden of catering for her five siblings? Unimaginable right?
Well, it isn’t. Samantha Rodriguez, a 20-year-old resident of Orange County, Florida, has been raising her five siblings ever since her parents passed away.
Her siblings are between the ages of 5 and 16. While speaking to Inside Edition, Samantha said:
“Doing everything on my own is very hard.”
Despite all the challenges and hardships, Samantha kept pushing and taking care of her younger ones.
Not once did she take her eyes off them. That is why local donors knew they needed to help her and her family in every way they could.
Gathering their donations, and through the Sheriff's office, they surprised Samantha and her siblings with a car.
What spun off this incredible act was when the Sheriff's office surprised Samantha and her younger ones with Christmas presents and even a helicopter ride.
The posted the pictures on Facebook, and it got community members interested in helping the family. When she received the new whip, Samantha said:
“I’m so glad to have people like you guys in my life.”
Good deeds can never be too much. We applaud Samantha for her courage in raising her siblings despite so being young and very likely having to sacrifice some of her dreams in the process.
We all should learn from this and always strive to help those around us in any way we can.
Family is the biggest treasure of all! That is why it is so important to appreciate each other. Here is one more powerful story to prove that.
