Woman From Georgia Celebrates 111 Birthday In Golden Style, And Credits Faith In God For Long And Happy Life

This woman from Georgia knows how to celebrate her birthday in style! Mrs. Willie Mae Hardy turned 111 on 11 of March 2019, and she had a special day surrounded by family and friends. She appeared at the party looking amazing in her sparkling golden dress. The spice of her outfit was an elegant hat with a big bow.

Hardy is an iconic figure in her community. She has been a devoted church member for 72 years, since she joined Butler Street Baptist church in 1944. The woman didn’t have an easy life. Her family revealed that she had worked in the cotton field as a child and dropped out of the school after 3rd grade in order to look after her siblings.

She has worked as a housekeeper her whole life, and she has also been a caregiver for her 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Willie Mae Hardy has only one daughter, Cassie Neil, born in 1925.

The long-liver revealed the secrets of her happy life and great looks.

She also said faith in God gave her the strength to live through ups and downs.

The woman is also known for organizing traditional Sunday dinners for all generations in the family! Besides cooking, she has been enjoying working in her garden, where she grows her own food, walking, listening to gospel music and making bread for birds. As the granddaughter of a slave, she loves the movie “The Help” most of all.

Currently, Kane Tanaka from Fukuoka, Japan, has been proclaimed the oldest person living, at 116 years old, according to the Guinness Book of Records. Who knows, maybe Mrs. Hardy can beat that record! She turned 111 and we send her the best and warmest wishes.
