Many people don't realize how much damage screen time can cause, and in no time their eyesight deteriorates.
It's why we have a fun eye test for you! In addition to the official eye test you get at the hospital, you can take this quick one so that you can determine how soon you need to see an optician.
In the image below, there are four numbers in total, and you have to identify each number on your own, using your eyesight.
If you saw:
6001: This means you have short-sightedness and possibly have astigmatism.
6661: You have astigmatism, but you are not short-sighted.
5670: You are only short-sighted and do not have astigmatism.
However, if your answer was 5691, then your vision is at its best!
Potential eye defects can be prevented by doing the following:
1. Always choose the appropriate glasses. For example, wear sunglasses that filter 75–95% of visible light and block out 99–100% of UV-A and UV-B rays. Also, follow your doctor's prescription regarding glasses or contact lenses;
2. Time-out: Give your eye a break as a form of prevention of eyestrain. You can also implement computer viewing glasses to reduce the light emissions of the screen;
3. Quit smoking;
4. Eat healthily;
5. Sleep well;
6. Go for regular checkups at the hospital.
Remember to visit your doctor if your answer was any the three "wrong" answers. It's important you pay special attention to your eyes!
