Flight Crew Made A Woman Put On A Blanket Because Of Her "Inappropriate" Summer Outfit

Not everybody is aware that airlines have a dress code so, for the past several years, women and men alike have been booted from planes for wearing short shorts, leggings, or sagging pants.

Dr. Tisha Rowe and her 8-year-old son were about to fly from Jamaica to Miami when a flight attendant swiftly removed the woman from the plane because of her outfit.

Once off the plane, she was met by another attendant who inquired if she had a jacket before explaining that the ensemble she was wearing, a printed strapless romper, was deemed "too distracting" by members of the flight crew.

Moreover, when Tisha said she didn’t have a jacket, she was told that she would only be readmitted if she agreed to wrap herself in a blanket.

Dr. Rowe, 37, a family physician in Houston, believes she was humiliated because of her skin color.

She explained that she feels that she and other women are 'policed' and over-sexualized and that she doesn't think a white woman would receive the same treatment if she wore a similar outfit.

The humiliating situation made her son feel embarrassed and, as a result, he spent the whole flight in tears, with a blanket over his head. It also left the woman "disgusted and humiliated."

Although Rowe said on Twitter that she felt her outfit “covered EVERYTHING” and was perfectly acceptable, it seems that the flight crew had other views on what is appropriate.

She believes there's a double-standard for appropriate attire that's applied differently to women depending on a few factors, including body shape and race:

"I have a very curvaceous body, and I put my body in bold colors, so you're going to see it. But it's not vulgar. It's not inappropriate. It's not bad, you know? If you put someone who's a size 2 in the exact same outfit next to me, no one would be bothered."

Well, it seems that in order to avoid similar situations when taking a plane, you should add rompers to the list of clothes that can potentially get you yanked from a flight. Don't let those trifles ruin your trip!
