Body ideals change so fast that many women suffer either because they're too slim or too plump. The well-known phrase: "Girls always want the body type they don't have" sounds particularly relevant today.
Women crave to curvy shapes: bigger bums, thinner waists and all the other proportions their fashion idols have. The demands are immeasurable.
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, surgery, fillers and implants on bottoms have become some of the most popular cosmetic surgeries in the US for the past two years.
Sadly, some women can't feel the limits and stop when they have had enough to make the changes noticeable.
For instance, Courtney Barnes, a model and influencer from Miami, underwent three rounds of black-market butt injections.
The final result was not the one she expected. Her bottom ballooned to 59 inches! The woman said:
“I was naïve and I admit I didn’t know what I was putting in my body, but at the time a lot of women in Florida were getting it done and I found a local woman who could do it.”
Although Courtney's fame garnered her a lot of attention and 815,000 followers on her Instagram profile, the woman now regrets the procedures.
The skin on her bottom has become discolored and her backside is now sagging and lumpy.
The woman suffers abuse on a daily basis. The model is now desperate to have a normal bottom and life. Moreover, she has released a book about her experience, where she warns people about the consequences of butt injections.
Society will always dictate its rules and beauty standards, but the most important advice is to be true to yourself and follow your heart. Remember: You are always beautiful, no matter what people say!
