Muslim Student Will Become First Beauty Queen To Wear A Hijab To Compete In The Miss England Finals

A 20-year-old Law student is breaking grounds as she prepares to participate in the finals of the Miss England beauty contest.

According to a GoFundMe profile she set up for a cause very near and dear to her heart, Beauty With A Purpose, Sara explained that she was a Law student from Huddersfield who also worked part-time.

The Beauty With A Purpose charity is aimed at raising money for underprivileged children all over the world.

The young lady often shares photos of herself on her Instagram page, usually in Muslim attire.

Sara has won the title of Miss Huddersfield 2018 and Miss Yorkshire Popularity 2018, and she recently announced she was heading on to the national finals of Miss England.

While describing herself on GoFundMe, Sara explained that she chose to participate in a beauty contest to show that "beauty doesn't have a definition.' Her message is for everyone, regardless of their race, color, size or faith, to embrace their unique beauty.

On heading to the finals

Back in July, Sara posted an Instagram picture sharing her happy news. The University of Huddersfield student expressed how amazed she was after she was called as a finalist in Miss England 2018. She described it as an incredible and unforgettable experience.

Apart from making history as the first Muslim woman to wear a hijab for the contest, she also looked forward to taking great advantage of the platform and the publicity it will provide.

Sara will be competing for the coveted crown with 49 other women. The winner of the beauty contest will get to go to China, where she will represent England at the Miss World pageant.

About the Miss England contest

The competition is held every year to find the one person who gets to represent England at the Miss World pageant.

The 50 finalists are usually encouraged to do a whole bunch of things, and Sara will be fundraising for Beauty with a Purpose, donating gifts to charity, completing a general knowledge test, and participating in a beach shoot, sports and talent contents.
