Jesica Wright Hogan, a mum of six, was no stranger to birthing babies. She had experienced all types of scenarios during previous childbirths and she felt confident that she knew what to expect.
But when baby boy Maxwell Alexandra decided it was time to enter the world, he certainly left his parents stunned.
Jesica had gone to the hospital earlier but was told that she was not progressing. She was only 4 centimetres dilated at the time.
Since she had no complications with her pregnancy and she wanted an intervention-free birth, Jesica and her husband, Travis decided to return home and wait for the anticipated moment.
Four days later, Jesica suddenly woke up in the middle of the night and noticed she was having very long contractions. The mum could feel that her baby was coming fast but Travis was confident that they would get to the hospital on time.
Jesica's water broke in the car but they managed to make it to the hospital premises. However, they had only just gotten through the entrance to the ER hallway when she became certain that there was no way they could make it any further than that.

Birth photographer, Tammy Karin of Little Leapling Photography captured these incredible moments. On her blog, Jesica wrote:
I then started to take my pants off because I could feel my body pushing the baby's head out. I reached down and could feel his head crowning with my hand.
Jesica pulled down her pants on the spot and by then, a nurse had raced to the scene. After she told her husband to "catch him," he did just that. Travis helped to bring his child into the world.
The little boy was born just inside the entrance of the emergency room, less than 25 minutes from the time the mum's water broke.
Jesica was very appreciative of how her husband handled things and how he took care of them.
He kept me calm, he kept us safe, he always takes excellent care of us, and he is the most beautiful father and husband.
This turned out to be quite the birth experience for the family and one they will never forget. Congratulations to the happy mother.
