Chrissy Teigen is not a stranger when it comes to getting negative comments from people on social media. The model often shares posts that have to do with her daughter Luna and we all know how commonplace it has now become for a parent to be judged for their choices.
Teigen, for the most part, usually have a witty reply to the online trolls so when they came for her recently, she did not cower in fear. She had a hilarious retort ready.
The mother posted a picture of herself sitting on a playground slide with Luna. People soon began to comment that that was very dangerous. We totally get their point and realise that there was a message in here for parents. There are some dangers to going down a slide with your child on your lap or between your legs that some people may not be aware of.
In that Instagram picture, Teigen wrote as the caption:
Weeeee are very skeptical of slides right now.
When the mum-shaming began, Teigen, as usual, had the best and most hilarious response for the haters.
Wish you guys would have told me about the broken leg thing earlier. They broke. Both of them. And everyone else's in the park broke too just from watching it happen. There are so many broken legs here (heads up, photos are a one-second moment in time, I was lifting her onto my lap).
Granted, it is very true that putting Luna on her lap before going down a slide could lead to an accident. In fact, a study done by Winthrop University Hospital in New York discovered that up to 14 percent of childhood fractures over an 11-month period were caused by toddlers going down playground slides on an adult's laps.
However, one thing these judgy people on the internet often forget is their manners. There is a difference between offering a mother kind, helpful advice and attacking her for not getting one thing right.
We all have to remember that when it comes to parenting, no one is perfect. So before calling someone a bad mother or referring to them as 'stupid' for making a human mistake, think again. Is there a better way to phrase your point without going on the attack?
