These ladies have been a source of inspiration and hope for many people, and we are always excited to learn more about them.
Abigail 'Abby' and Brittany Hensel were born in March 1990. They are conjoined twins: They are separate twins who share one body.
Not long after they were born, their parents broached the possibility of separating them. However, because of how intertwined their organs were, doctors worried that one or both of them would not survive the surgery.
This caused their parents to give up on following through with the separation.
It turned out to be a decision they never regretted because, as Abby and Brittany grew up, they began to develop skills that helped them thrive.
The parents believed that their quality of life right now is better than what could have been the case if they had been separated and survived the procedure.
Because of the uniqueness of their situation and the positivity that the girls seem to embody, a lot of people all over the world have been very interested in their story.
The girls spent several months studying to be teachers. They have honed their skills by working as student teachers at an elementary school while they completed their education degree.
They recently announced that they have accepted a job as fifth-grade math teachers. As kids, Brittany and Abby had always dreamed of different things when it came to their career, but as they grew up, they began to look forward to pursuing a common passion so they are both very excited for this opportunity.
