There's nothing more painful and earth-shattering than being ridiculed by different people from different parts of the world just because of a few photos.
This was exactly what Mzznaki Tetteh experienced in 2016, after she shared her engagement photos on Instagram.
It did not take long for the Ghanaian nurse's pictures to go viral and, once they did, people began slamming her for being overweight. The body-shaming she endured after sharing these pictures of herself and her man, Kojo Amoah, was brutal.
But we have to say Tetteh was very brave through it all. In fact, not only did she not let the nasty comments break her, she also found strength in them and embraced her body even more.
Tetteh did not normally post social media photos of herself. However, experiencing such hate has made her even more determined to accept herself and help other women who might be facing the same struggle.
She found courage in the supportive messages she received and ignored those who chose to make it all about her weight.
While a large number of people snorted at how big she was and how her man's spine would probably snap from carrying her, Tetteh responded with class and positivity. In the caption of one of her pictures, she said:
Still confident … your rubbish comments ain’t ruining my happiness … thanks to all for the compliments and best wishes … am honored.
A couple of weeks after those engagement photos were posted, Tetteh walked down the aisle and married the love of her life.
The newlywed had nothing but glowing words for her man. As she shared her wedding photos, she appreciated him for his love and said:
just wanna let u know that the flames of passion between us will never be extinguished.
Since her wedding on June 25th, 2016, Tetteh has been enjoying her happy life with her husband. In fact, according to an announcement she made in February, the pair recently welcomed a baby girl.
It really just goes to show, when you ignore the hate and focus on your own life, you are bound to be happier.
