The 10,000-square-meter area in the province of Samsun is organized for cats exclusively. The initiative was started due to an increased number of stray animals in the city.

In 2013, the staff from the care centre for neglected animals decided to create a special place for those who had no home.

Do the felines enjoy their own town? Oh yes! They have wooden cabins, a playground and food every day. Before becoming a citizen of cats’ paradise, they are checked by a vet and neutered.

Every one of them can be adopted as well.

Cats can live alone or in a group. They are also under the careful supervision of the staff of the centre.

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Veterinary Director Nurhan İşler said that they had wanted to create a natural environment for these animals.

They are taken very good care of, at the same time, they can wander around, climb trees and enjoy nature. During the night, they return to the facility. According to İşler, they can host up to 500 felines.

It’s amazing to learn that people are willing to deal with the problem of stray animals in a way that protect and care for them! These cats are fortunate to live in a cat town. But there are so much more out there, living a vagabond life. Hopefully, more people will no longer stand aside, and many of these amazing creatures will find a home again.
