Poor Dog Waits At The Spot Where Her Owner Dumped Her For Ten Years: How Can We Curb Animal Neglect?

One of the mysteries that will never be understood is why anyone would abandon or hurt animals. Sure, their playful nature might wear on someone's patience from time to time, but how can anyone ever really harm these cute, innocents beings?

According to statistics, about 6.5 million companion pets enter the shelters yearly. Unfortunately, 1.5 million of them don’t find forever homes, so they end up getting euthanized.
However, some aren’t even lucky enough to make into shelters as they are still holding on to the hope that their owners are coming for them.

Bokshil’s unhinged loyalty
Bokshil is a dog who has visited the same spot for almost a decade, waiting. She stands in the same place, looking out with hope in her eyes.
Many have wondered what the poor dog could be waiting for. Well, as reported by SBS TV, Bokshil has been waiting for her owner who abandoned her ten years ago.
The poor pup waits at the entrance of the apartment every day, looking out for her owner. Thankfully, neighbors have been kind to her and have provided the pup with food and water.
One kind lady who regularly feeds the dog said in an interview with SBS TV:
”I heard the owner left it behind while moving. The owner probably lacked the resources to raise a dog.”
Despite being abandoned, poor Bokshil remained so loyal to her previous owner that even when she was taken away from the streets by the kind neighbors, she refused her new home and returned to her spot to wait for her human.
The neighborhood saw her undying loyalty and built a dog house for her, where she sleeps at night, but once it's morning, she returns to her spot. She's often found running after passerby’s who she mistakes for her owner.
The concerned residents took her to the veterinarian and found out she has senile cataract, a condition preventing her from recognizing people from afar.
Many internet users have expressed their concern for Bokshil’s deplorable state and are calling on people to give her a forever home.
How can you help?
Animals depend on us, all of us, so there's the need to educate your children to fight for abandoned animals. Here's how you can do that:
1. Teach them the importance of treating animals right;

2. Bring them along to events aimed at raising money for animals;
3. Volunteer with them at local shelters;
4. Foster an animal;
5. Spread the word against animal cruelty.

Poor Bokshil has been abandoned, but we do hope she gets united with a loving owner someday. No animal deserves to suffer such a cruel fate. We all need to do better.
