When you look at this bunch of cows, it’s hard not to notice the giant standing among them. Myalup farm in Australia is proud to have this extraordinary Holstein Friesian steer, named Knickers.
It hovers over the ordinary-looking cattle at 6 feet 4 inches and weighs 1.4 tonnes. Its owner, Geoff Pearson, claims, the Knickers' enormous size makes her look special, but it also saves her life. She also has a special part to play as a "role model" and leader of the herd.
Knickers is no longer merely an Australian celebrity. Her video went viral very quickly since it emerged on the Internet.
Eventually, it reached another farmer, who decided to compete for the biggest steer. Karl Schoenrock from Manitoba, in Canada, measured his own cow and made headlined claiming that his steer, Dozer, is an inch taller than Knickers. The cow is now living in a sanctuary and a petting farm!
Despite his solid look, the steer has a mild personality. Schoenrock said:
He’s just the friendliest animal.
The owner calls him a gentle giant because he loves the company of humans! So it's possible to come close, pet him, and give him a few scratches behind the ear!
Both giants are dairy breeds, and just like Knickers, Dozen was rescued by his own size.
The extraordinary is so close to us!
