We could relate it to their rounded smiley faces, or the hilarious role played in the famous animation movie ‘Shrek.’

There are three types of donkeys, and they include the wild ones which are found in areas such as North America, the Middle East, and the Arabian Peninsula.

There are also domestic donkeys, found in all parts of the world, and the feral donkeys. There is just something extremely adorable about these creatures, and this video is proof of it.

Baby Genevieve caught and rescued

Genevieve is a baby donkey that was found injured by a local in native India. A pack of wild animals had brutally attacked her, and it took the cries of her mother to get attention.

When the local woman saw her, she wasn't sure she was going to survive. However, she contacted an animal rescue organization, Animal Aid India,  after a friend advised her to do so.

When the rescuers arrived, the locals had already applied turmeric powder to her injuries to treat the wounds.

The devoted mother stood by her foal through it all.

It was apparent Genevieve was in great pain, and they were all surprised by the strength that kept her alive.

The poor jenny was transported to their center, and she was followed by her mother who paced around as she was taken away. At the facility, she was fortunate to receive treatment early enough.

It took a while, but when it was done, Genevieve was back to good health.

Seeing the little animal back and bouncing on her feet was terrific, but the joy displayed by her mother, in a video shared by Animal Aid India, was the highlight of it all.

She was all over those who helped treat her foal and couldn't leave her side when it was all done. Evidently, she was beyond grateful.

How to help a wounded donkey

Sometimes there may not be enough time to save an innocent sould. Therefore, quick action is needed whenever you spot a hurt or neglected animal.

Here are the steps needed to take care of an injured donkey.

1. Always have a first aid kit in place;

2. Rinse the wound using cold water to prevent infection;

3. Cut off hair in the affected area to keep it clean and neat;

4. Clean the wound using a cotton swab as well as an antiseptic.
