Carole Middleton Breaks Royal Protocol To Give Her First Ever Interview And Opens Up About Her Opinion Of Her Son-In-Law, Prince William
The Duchess of Cambridge's mother has shared some details about her life and what she thinks of her son-in-law, Prince William.
Carole Middleton granted her first ever interview to The Telegraph this past weekend. Here, she opened up about her grandchildren, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. She also discussed her sons-in-law. The Duke of Cambridge came up in the conversation, as well as Pippa Middleton's husband, James Matthews.
So far, Carole has maintained a certain level of privacy despite the notoriety of being the Duchess's mother, she's now speaking up and had nothing but good things to say.
While reflecting on her family, Carole revealed that she usually helped Prince George and Princess Charlotte during the holiday season.
She talked about her love of Christmas trees and how she would even leave one in her grandchildren's rooms so that they could decorate it themselves. While stating her value for family, she said:
They come first and that will always be the case, even when I have more me time.
Carole had the sweetest things to say about her sons-in-law. too.
I have two lovely sons-in-law and I hope I'll have a lovely daughter-in-law.
She was referring to Kate and Pippa's brother, James, who is yet to be married.
On one of her biggest fears when Kate married into royalty, Carole said she worried that she would lose her family. "But we've stayed close," she stated.
Carole also revealed why she had not given any interview since it became publicized that her daughter was dating a prince. In fact, she may not be too bothered about public opinion because she revealed that she actually stopped reading online stories about herself about a year ago.
Well, I thought it was better to know what people thought. But it doesn’t make any difference. I’m not really sure how I’m perceived now. But the thing is… it is really normal – most of the time.
The 63-year-old mother of three broke protocol to speak about her successful multimillion pound business, Party Pieces, which she set up in 1987.
She did not reveal too much about the royals, though. But from the things she did say, it was clear that she had no complaints there.
