This was the case on July 4 when new mother Meghan Markle showed up at Wimbledon to support her friend, Serena Williams.

The Duchess, who was enjoying her maternity leave, sported a casual look in a pair of jeans and a chic blazer.

As usual, the press and fans were eager to get a photo of the Duchess having a swell time, but they were refused as Meghan’s protection officer instructed them not to do so as she was present in 'private capacity.'

A particular man, who was dressed in a green and black shirt, was told off by the officers when he came close to the Duchess with his phone. However, recent reports suggest that the stranger wasn’t trying to take photos of the Duchess.

As revealed by Mirror, a closer inspection of the photo showed that the man wasn’t interested in taking a shot of the Duchess.

Instead, he was taking a selfie of himself and the happenings on the court. The site reports that a couple of photos were taken showing him setting up the shot, so it was unusual and somewhat impossible that he simply turned on his camera and faced it the wrong way towards the court.

Even though it’s possible he wanted to have an image of the royal wife it seems at that moment, the poor man was intrigued by something or someone else other than Meghan.

Fans have been pissed about the revelation and had bashed Meghan for having a narcissistic nature.

Twitter user, Joy Diane, wrote:

It’s not unreasonable that the security officers approached the man as his camera was indeed quite close to Meghan.

There could have been no way they could tell that he wasn’t gunning for a shot.

Nevertheless, it must have hurt him to be told off when he wasn’t doing anything wrong. What do you think? Was the Duchess wrong for wanting privacy in such a public place?
