As time goes by, we age and with the years come experiences that change our view about the world. These constant setbacks and victories shape our beliefs, all leading to an epiphanous point in our lives.
As we reminisce on such experiences, they serve as a guide in making life choices. For older people, tales of their experiences help mentor future generations. Award-winning actor, Sir Anthony Phillip Hopkins, is one of such people who has told his story to help improve younger lives.
This iconic individual has had a fantastic life, being honored with many prominent awards, ranging from the Emmys to The Academy Awards.
Although Sir Anthony Hopkins seems to have had it all, the journey to the top wasn’t smooth and he disclosed some of his trials while speaking to members and enrollees of a non-profit student foundation LEAP, (Leadership, Excellence And Accelerating Your Potential).
The actor claimed he only began acting because he had nothing to do. He classified himself as an uptight loner; thus he often got bullied all around.
However, he had his break in a movie he featured in back in1968. However, life didn't get any better with the fame and money that came along. Hopkins said;
"I was very difficult to work with, as well, because I was usually hung over."
The iconic actor claimed he was always drunk, making him a potential threat to himself and to others.
However, the actor stated that his life changed when he met a woman when attending an anonymous alcoholics meeting.
Hopkins said that the unidentified woman told him that:
"Why don't you just trust in God."
While speaking to the eager audience, Anthony Hopkins claimed that the experience changed his life.
He started to take back the wheels of his life and finally got over his bad cravings.
He also said it did a great deal to shape his choice and path in his life, referring to the experiences as 'destiny’. Although Hopkins is not a converted Christian, his views about religion and God has changed.
The iconic actor had a lot to say, giving tips on personal development and providing advice to teenagers based on his experiences. The LEAP Program also featured other stars, such as Usher and Eva Longoria.
The program was founded by Dr. Bill Hoffman and is dedicated to guiding a new generation of entrepreneurs and teenagers in achieving their dreams and reaching their full potential.
