Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle Show Up In Lovely Recycled Dresses For A Christmas Lunch With The Queen
When you are scheduled to dine with the Queen of England, you show up looking your best. Do you think recycled dresses would be good enough, though?
On December 19, Queen Elizabeth II held a family Christmas meal at Buckingham Palace. The dinner afforded her the opportunity to catch up with each family member, particularly those who won't be with her at Sandringham, the Norfolk estate where she spends Christmas every year.
The Sussexes and Cambridges arrived in their own cars, driven by their husbands, and though we didn't get a good look at their dresses, fans caught a peek of the car windows and observed that the ladies were wearing recycled dresses - a common practice for both women.
The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton was dressed in a pink satin dress. With its unique color and neck bow, it was apparent that it was the same Sarah McCartney dress that she had worn for Prince Philip's birthday dinner back in 2011, months after her wedding.
Other than the fact that the dress is quite gorgeous, can we get started on the fact that she still fits into it after seven years and three children? It is simply fantastic.
Towing the same line, Meghan, the 37-year-old Duchess of Sussex, was wearing something from 2016 - an Erdem sheer, a floral gown that we remember her wearing for an interview on the Today Show, months before she met Prince Harry.
It is interesting that she chose something from her 'former life', when she was still an actress on the TV series Suits, but all the same we assume that some adjustments were made to the dress to accommodate her growing pregnancy bump.
Perhaps, by now, we ought to have grown accustomed to this fashionable pair's habit of recycling their outfits or maybe we never will because they pull it off every time.
The family gathering couldn’t have come at a better time when rumors of a feud between the Duchesses are flying around. Hopefully, this proves to fans that Meghan and Kate are on good terms.
With Prince Harry and Meghan's intention to move out of Kensington Palace to Frogmore Cottage, in Windsor, we hope that both families will maintain a close relationship and remain the Fab Four that we know them to be.
