Is Meghan Markle Overworking In Heels? Duchess Sighted With A Bunion While Barefoot On Tour In New Zealand
The Duchess of Sussex has always been known to be in high-heeled shoes, no matter the occasion. Imagine any look, and the beautiful duchess is sure to finish it up with a pair of her trusty stilettos.
Of course, she always looks terrific in them, but there must be a price to pay for always looking elegant and stunning - and it seems like the Duchess is paying it.
A sharp-eyed royal watcher spotted a bunion on the Duchess’ feet while she was barefoot at the Papaiouru Marae, a meeting house in Rotorua, New Zealand.
The Duchess received a powhiri welcome. This means she had to take off her shoes in order to respect the Maori culture. This allowed for the bunion on her right foot to be spotted.
Alongside the bunion, a possible scar was seen. It is believed that the scar is as a result of a previous surgery the Duchess had.
A bunion is a swell which appears on the side of the joint where the big toe is connected to the foot.
It is usually caused by frequently wearing tight shoes or heels.
The Duchess, who is expecting a baby in spring 2019, isn't letting even her pregnancy keep her away from her beloved stilettos. While on this tour, she took part in 76 engagements in 16 days.
Out of her 41 various stunning outfits during the tour, the Duchess wore heels 34 times, while opting for flats only seven times. How amazing!
It is said that the Duchess had never worn flats to a royal occasion before the tour, not even when she engaged in sporting activities in Dublin's Croke Park.
However, it seems that the Duchess’ motivation for her choice of footwear has everything to do with her husband, Prince Harry.
The Duke of Sussex is at an intimidating height of 6ft 1 inch, while his wife is 5ft 6inch.
It seems like Meghan puts on heels to balance the height difference, so their difference in height will not spoil the numerous pictures the paparazzi are sure to be taking.
A cute and romantic endeavor, going through discomfort for the sake of her husband. Isn't Meghan Markle the absolute best?
