As a parent, it is very crucial to acknowledge the specific needs of your children and to attend to them.
Parents with children from different cultural backgrounds, by recognizing their heritages, show them how much they are loved, and singer Thomas Rhett has given us a fantastic example.
The famous ‘Life Changes’ singer, Thomas Rhett has proved what an amazing, considerate father he is.
He posted a picture on his Instagram showing himself with his daughter, Willa, in their pj's smiling at the camera, with matching pink polka-dotted hair bonnets on. He captioned the picture:
“Just a little nightcap.”
Thomas and his wife, Laura Akins, adopted their Ugandan daughter, Willa Grey, in May 2017. They have another daughter, Ada James, who is one year old.
Thomas never fails to post pictures of his daughter on his social media account, bragging about how proud he is to be her dad. Since the singer posted the adorable picture, comments have flooded in commending what a great father Thomas is.
People have especially appreciated his recognition of his daughter's black culture.
Hair bonnets are an essential part of the black female culture, as black women wear them to prevent hair frizz and damage.
A comment on the post read,
“How amazing is this. Taking the time to make sure and acknowledge her culture and needs. I love this."
Hopefully, more parents can take a cue from Thomas’ actions and go the extra mile to prove to their children how much they love them.
