The Heartbreaking Moment Princess Diana First Discovered Prince Charles And Camilla’s Relationship
Diana, the Princess of Wales, tied the knot with Prince Charles in a glamorous Royal wedding in 1981, but what was supposed to be a lifelong journey met its end after 15 years of togetherness.
Their union was annulled on the ground of Prince Charles’ infidelity with his long longtimer Camilla Parker Bowles.
The late Princess Diana revealed through her personal biographer, Andrew Morton, that she saw the signs of her failed marriage from the start but continued with it because she was only young at that time and did not know better.
Princess Diana opened up on the heart-wrenching moment when she made the discovery of Charles and Camilla’s affair a few weeks before her wedding.
Young Diana had visited one of Charles staff's office and found on his table a parcel that contained a bracelet which Prince Charles intended to gift Camilla.
The customized bracelet had the initials G and F which stood for Gladys and Fred, Camilla and Charles’ pet names for each other.
Neglecting the warning sign, Daina, aged 20, proceeded with her marriage to Prince Charles at Saint Paul's Cathedral in July 1981.
Before their union, Prince Charles had dated Camilla in 1970, but their relationship lasted only for a year as the duo parted ways in 1971 when Prince Charles joined the Royal Navy.
Two years after their separation, Camilla married Andrew Parker Bowles. However, Camilla and Prince Charles still had feelings for each other as they rekindled their relationship despite being married to different partners.
Camilla was said to have always had the G and F bracelet on throughout Charles and Diana's union.
It was said that Camilla was the primary reason for Charles and Diana's split in 1996 after Diana's BBC interview in which she termed Camilla as the ‘third person in her marriage.’
Afterward, in 2005, Charles and Camilla got wedded in a low-key wedding in Windsor 10 years after Camilla’s separation with husband, Andrew Parker Bowles.
Nonetheless, Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ union together produced such wonderful Royal brothers Prince William and Harry whom we all adore. It wasn’t all that bad after all.
