Melania Trump's fashion choices have always gotten major attention. So, when she wore a pair of skin-colored leather pants, people naturally had questions.

On December 26, Melania joined her husband, President Donald Trump, in a visit to Iraq. The two spent a few hours there before heading to Germany, then returning to the United States. Upon their return, Melania's outfit choice caused quite the stir.

The First Lady was spotted wearing a short green coat and a pair of tan leather pants as she and her husband descended from Air Force One at the end of their trip.

While there was nothing wrong with her outfit, per se, the problem was that, upon first glance, it looked like Melania wasn't wearing pants at all. This is because they were almost the same color as her skin. The situation was so puzzling that many took to social media to express their consternation.

Some of the commenters simply wondered why she was wearing such a short coat with seemingly nothing covering her legs.

Then there were those who noticed the pants but still felt that FLOTUS wore her outfit that way on purpose just so she could be talked about in the media.

Of course, there was nothing overly wrong with her outfit, and leggings like this wouldn't have led to that much attention since they are usually worn by a lot of people. But as the First Lady, her style often comes under a microscope. For example, she was slammed last October for wearing a jacket that contained what many felt to be a questionable inscription. She also came under fire for wearing this controversial hat in Kenya.

Hopefully, people can cut her some slack for future fashion choices, especially considering the fact that this particular drama was due to a simple misunderstanding.
