Actor Tom Hanks recently showed himself to be a funloving and super cool guy when he decided to make a couple's special day even more memorable.
The star once crashed a wedding photoshoot which was taking place in Central Park. Photographer Meg Miller was in the process of capturing Elizabeth and Ryan's happy day when a celebrity decided to interrupt them.
Meg's camera was clicking away when she had to stop to allow a stranger to pass by. She told HuffingtonPost that people in the park mostly kept their distance as she took the pictures. However, there was one particular guy that was walking way too close to them.
Instead of going on his way, the stranger simply walked to the newlyweds and introduced himself as Tom Hanks.
Yesterday's wedding was so beautiful! Elisabeth and Ryan you planned one amazing celebration. The icing on the cake was @tomhanks stopping in Central Park to wish them congratulations. #megmillerphotography #newyork #nyc #nyminute #celebrity #brideandgroom #tomhanks #weddingdress #wedding #weddingday #blacktie #centralpark #blackandwhite #huffpostido #stylemepretty #weddinginspiration #selfie #celebritysighting
The photographer revealed that Hanks shook the groom's hand, kissed the bride's hand and then posed for a couple of pictures. In fact, he even asked them if they wanted him to preside over the ceremony as a wedding officiant because he's an ordained minister.
After that brief encounter, Tom Hanks simply "took off running," Meg said, adding that they probably would not have known it was him if he had just run past without introducing himself.
Later on, Hanks posted a selfie on Instagram of himself and the couple where he offered his congratulations.
Meg revealed that this experience was a first for her. She has had minor celebrity encounters at other weddings she worked on, but she had never encountered a star as famous as Hanks before then.
Wasn't it cool of Tom Hanks to take a minute to give a couple a super special wedding present? We bet it was a moment they will never forget.
