Princess Diana was probably one of the most adored women in the whole world!
Everything she did or say was captured and embraced, and everything she wore was copied.
Diana was an inspiration for many fashion houses and she loved wearing famous brands. There was one, though, that she started avoiding after the divorce from Prince Charles.
After breaking up with the royal successor to the throne, she could not wear the Chanel brand anymore. Apparently, she started seeing something personal in their iconic double “C” brand.
The Australian designer Jayson Brundson was lucky and honored to work with the Princess in 1996. He revealed to Harper’s Bazaar that Diana had openedo him and confessed the heartbreaking reason why she was repelled by the Chanel logo.
When the designer dressed her for an Australian charity event, he suggested luxurious Chanel shoes, which would match her Versace outfit perfectly.
She said 'No, I can't wear linked Cs, the double C.' So I asked why, and she said, 'It's Camilla and Charles.'
Diana and Prince Charles divorced in 1996, however, their marriage was ruined much earlier.
When the late Princess of Wales found out about her husband's mistress in 1992, she could not live with Charles under the same roof anymore. The couple would still perform royal duties together, but their relationship was on the warpath.
In an interview to BBC, Diana was asked if Camilla Parker Bowles was the reason for their separation, and she gave the clearest answer.
“There were three of us in our marriage. So it was a bit crowded.”
Seeing the Chanel Logo cut her like a knife, just because of the painful associations it triggered.
