Sometimes we can watch a movie and feel deeply moved by the chemistry portrayed between two characters. But it's possible for these actors to feel a strong connection, too. So, even it isn't technically real, some of these love interests do end up in a relationship when the cameras go off.
Here are five couples who felt a spark on set and gave it a go afterward.
1. Jim Carrey and Renee Zellweger
The couple reportedly fell for each other hard while they were filming Me, Myself and Irene. It was such a strong connection that they decided to have a relationship in real life. Unfortunately, their love story ended 18 months after they began dating.
2. Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy
They fell in love on set as well when they acted as each other's love interest in Just Married. They only dated for a few short months, too.
3. Julia Roberts and Richard Gere
Pretty Woman was a romantic film for the ages. Many people fell in love with the main characters and it seemed like a match made in heaven when reports began to circulate that Julia Roberts and Richard Gere had an off-screen thing going. While nothing was ever really confirmed, director Garry Marshall did imply to Huffington Post that something more happened with the pair.
When Marshall was asked if Julia and Richard got together in real life, he replied, "We don't talk about that!" which could very well mean there was something to talk about.
4. Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford
It turned out that these two were more than just professional actors on the Star Wars set. Even though some suspected a real-life romance, it wasn't confirmed until Fisher herself revealed it in her memoir.
5. Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles
In 10 Things I Hate About You, this duo had pretty strong chemistry. It was so evident that people were almost certain that Heath and Julia had their own thing going in real life. It wasn't until the 10-year anniversary DVD commentary of the film that these hunches were reportedly confirmed: Heath and Julia were in love for real.
Doesn't this make you want to watch these classic movies all over again? It's nice to know that chemistry on set can sometimes translate to real life or vice-versa.
