"I Was Furious!" Jenna Bush Hager Opens Up About The Prank Her Two Daughters Played On Their Babysitter

Any parent will tell you that kids can be unpredictable at times. They do things that leave us in a state of consternation and TV personality Jenna Bush Hager recently witnessed one of such instances.
During TODAY’s Fourth Hour, where Jenna was filling in as host, she told fellow host Hoda Kotb about how her children, 5-year-old Mila and 3-year-old Poppy, got in big trouble when they were left with their babysitter.
Jenna was on her way to a function when she received a message from the sitter. Apparently, Mila and Poppy had locked themselves in the master bedroom, succeeding in locking their sitter out, for 45 minutes.
The mom told Hoda that she was "furious" upon hearing of her daughters' misbehavior as she felt it was a very disrespectful thing to do to the babysitter. So Jenna told the sitter to put the phone on speaker and hold it to the bedroom door so her daughters could hear her:
I said 'I’m going to call the police.' Is that overreacting? Because they unlocked the door.
Apparently, the girls did not worry too much about the whole incident because, by the time Jenna returned, Mila and Poppy were running around the house. Jenna said:
I took deep breaths. I wasn’t livid; I was disappointed.
The good news is that she didn't end up calling the cops, but she made sure her daughters learned their lesson by taking away their toys as punishment.
Jenna explained that the entire thing had her doubting her skills as a parent, but she decided to look on the bright side. The fact that her daughters were getting along enough to actually work together on something like that may not be a bad thing after all.
It sure sounded like Jenna had quite a memorable parenting moment. And, yes, it's pretty cool that Mila and Poppy are getting along. Here's to hoping they combine their powers for good in future.
When it comes to parenting, anything is possible.
