Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew tied the knot in 1986 at the Westminster Abbey and announced their separation only 6 years later.

The couple, however, still remain close and, believe it or not, share a home at Windsor. Sarah Ferguson herself admitted that she and the Duke of York are the “happiest divorced couple in the world”.

The Duke and Duchess of York have two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. Today, the family regularly dine together at their home and enjoy family time.

However, it hasn't always been like this. Sarah Ferguson, also known as Fergie among fans, has not always acquited herself as a caring parent. When she first stepped out with a newborn Princess Beatrice, she made an embarrassing blunder. More specifically, the woman handed the child to her husband and, on her way to the car, she noticed someone in the crowd with a bouquet of flowers.

Instead of taking care of her first royal baby, she immediately dashed over to the crowd to indulge in its adulation and pick up the posy. The Duchess stumbled but nonetheless managed to right herself and continued on the path to her fans. Luckily, the baby was with her royal dad and was not, therefore, exposed to the risks emanating from this inconsiderate behavior.

Actually, it was not the only instance of Fergie's indifference to her child. Indeed, a few weeks after the baby was born, Fergie went on a royal tour to Australia with Prince Andrew, leaving Princess Beatrice at home. That was another situation when royal fans questioned whether Sarah was ready for motherhood.

Although Sarah Ferguson was not a perfect mother for her newborn baby, it only proves that even royals can make mistakes in raising their children. Thus, don't be hard on yourself if you occasionally do something wrong. The most crucial advice is to love your child and be their best friend throughout the whole life.
