When Jia Jia’s father, Tian Haicheng, of Nungxia Province, northern China, was left paralyzed from the chest down after a terrible car crash, she stepped up remarkably well to help him get through the change in their lives.

Little Jia Jia wakes up at 6 am every morning to massage her father’s legs for 30 minutes, brush his teeth, and wash his face before preparing for school and heading out.

When she is away at school, her aged grandparents look after him.

Once she returns, she picks up from where they left off, feeding him dinner and helping him move around the house. Since 2016, this has been the amazing girl's routine.

Perhaps the most tasking part of her responsibility is getting the 40-year-old in and out of bed every day. Using makeshift hoists that her grandfather has installed, Jia Jia straps her father to it and lowers him into the wheelchair - a process that requires her to jump from the bed to the floor while trying hard to maintain her balance.

Why is she the one doing this? Where is her mother? Well, the woman took their eldest son and left two and a half months after the accident.

When asked if she missed her mother, Jia Jia said she didn’t, but she missed her brother because they had been close.

Speaking on how she feels about taking care of her father, the ray of sunshine stated categorically,

'Looking after my dad, I don't feel tired at all.'

In spite of this enthusiasm, there is no telling how much the traumatic experience of being responsible for her father for the past 2 years has affected her.

Her father has set up an account on Kuaishou, a live-streaming app, where the family has gathered 480,000 followers.

Hopefully, the family will soon get the help they desperately need so the weight of responsibility can be removed from the little girl's shoulders.
