Having dream drives a person on. It gives them something to work for. Making that dream come true means feeling completely happy and fulfilled.
While some people get to achieve their goals, many only knows frustration. However, some are brave enough to go any length in order to pursue and fulfill their innermost desires.
This Indian couple is an example of such people: Omkari Singh and her husband, Charan.
The loving couple live in Uttar Pradesh in northern India. They have two daughters and five grandchildren.
Their innermost desire was to have a son. You would think it wasn't possible for them to achieve their desires anymore, as Omkari was in her 70s and her husband was closer to his 80s.
Omkari and Charan wanted a son really badly, and they needed someone to help out with the household chores and carry on the family name.
Omkari also believed that she needed a son to feel like other mothers in the village.
They gathered all their savings and decided to try IVF. In 2008, Omkari gave birth to twins! Barsaat and Akashvani. A girl and a boy. She became the oldest mother in the world.
All the doctors were twice surprised because the babies were born very healthy, despite their having been delivered 1-month prematurely through C-section. However, four years later, Barsaat passed away.
Omkari was devastated, but found solace in the fact that she still got time to spend with her little boy.
She constantly struggles with raising an agile growing boy and admits there are some things she cannot do for him as a mother. She tries her best, helping him out with as much as possible.
More often than not, Omkari has to deal with people calling her son her grandson, but she does not let it get to her.
She has received a lot of criticism online for having a baby so late in life, but other mothers in her village, understanding the need for a son, have shown her all the support and love they have to offer.
Omkari turned 80 in 2018. She claims she is happy raising a ten-year-old boy. The only thing that would make her happier is if she and her husband could live long enough to see Akashvani get married.
We wish Omkari and her husband luck with raising their son and hope all their dreams come through!
