A Christmas Miracle: Abandoned Baby Found Freezing In Truck Is Adopted By The Family Of The Specialist Who Worked To Save Him

It was a regular day for a college student. It was freezing outside and she was in a hurry so she decided to take a shorter route.

Suddenly, she heard a cry. It was surprising because the parking lot was completely silent and that baffled her.
She then followed the sound and what she saw shocked her to the bones: In the back of a truck, there was an abadoned baby wrapped in cloths.
Managing to keep herself calm, she dialed 911. Fortunately, one of the emergency officers, Steve Suarez, was in possession of a warming mattress, one which might have made the difference between life and death that day.
However, things were still callous for the little kid. No one could say how long he had been there, but he was in terrible shape. Suarez said;
"I think we were all struck by how cold and alone he felt in the pick-up."
Little 'Whiskey Doe', as the hospital named him, kept pushing on, though. He was taken to the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, a place where his story changed for the better.
A supervising respiratory therapist, Lorraine Nichols, was waiting anxiously.
As soon as she set her eyes on little Whiskey Doe and heard his story, she felt a powerful connection to the helpless boy and knew God had brought him to her.
Lorraine had been battling problems of her own. She was unable to conceive and was a two-time cancer survivor.
Although she is better now, the complications prevent Lorraine from trying to have babies. Right at that moment, she was given a new chance.
After a long while and tough times healing together, Whiskey Doe pulled through and was finally adopted by Lorraine and her husband.
They named him Charles, and the little kid has been as much a blessing to them as they were to him.
It is amazing how a series of events - from the college student to the 'special bed' being available from the EMS and Lorraine being there at the right time - came together so perfectly.
It might be a mere coincidence to some, but for this family and this baby it was nothing less of a Christmas miracle.
