The Touching Moment When 3-Year-Old Girl Who Survived Cancer Walks Down The Aisle As A Bridesmaid For Her Bone Marrow Donor
That magical moment when you reunite with a person who saved your life! The 3-year-old girl Skye Savren-McCormick was fighting juvenile leukemia, one of the most aggressive types of cancer, but won the battle due to her bone marrow donor, Hayden Hatfield Ryals.
Ryals had Skye as a very special bridesmaid at her wedding, and the crowd couldn't help but admire the adorable cancer survivor who can now celebrate her life!
Skye was diagnosed with juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia and began her fight against the deadly disease even before her first birthday.
The very same year, her parents, Todd and Talia Savren-McCormick, received the news that Ryals bone marrow was a match. Skye received her first transplant in 2016, then she had a vital infusion of cells and another transplant in 2017.
The treatment worked wonders and now the girl’s mom credits Hayden for saving her daughter’s life:
I feel like Hayden is such a huge success in why Skye was able to beat leukemia.
The sad circumstances have become the start of a strong and touching friendship between Hayden Ryals and Skye.
Ryals reached the family through a donor organization called Be The Match, and they started keeping in touch via Facebook.
Now Talia Savren-McCormick claims that they have created a bond for a lifetime, as Hayden is the one who saved their daughter’s life.
Hayden sent a birthday present when the girl turned three. There was something more attached to the present – an invitation for Skye to serve as a bridesmaid at Ryals’ wedding.
It was during the wedding rehearsal that Skye and her guardian angel Hayden hugged each other for the first time. The woman recalled:
I walked up and I just dropped to my knees and all I could do was smile.
As Skye was walking down the aisle with a handful of flowers, throwing them on the ground, the guests could not fight back tears. The moment was absolutely beautiful.
