This Dad’s Rules For Dating His Daughters Sound Perfect: All Dads Need To Check This Out
He couldn’t have said it better and we couldn’t agree more. Every father decides how to raise his daughter, but this father’s way will most likely work for anybody.
Jeff Welch is the father of three daughters and two step daughters. The father and poet took to Facebook to share his opinion about being an overbearing dad, especially when it comes to dating.
Is It Easy To Deal With Children Growing Up?
Having kids and watching them grow up can be the best thing to happen to a parent. This can make it quite hard to admit that, sometimes, it can be heart-breaking, too. But the truth is that your little girl will grow up some day. She will become an adult and start dating. Then, you’re left wondering how this happened so fast. How do you prepare her for this?
Most of the time, the fear is cause by not knowing if she is well-prepared for the world outside. Even parents were young once, so they are aware of how the real world can be. Luckily, Jeff Welch had the best things to say about how he is going to prepare his daughters for dating.
According to his post on Facebook:
“You’ll have to ask them what their rules are. I’m not raising my little girls to be the kind of women who need their daddy to act like a creepy possessive badass in order for them to be treated with respect. You will respect them, and if you don’t, I promise they won’t need my help putting you back in place. Good luck pumpkin.”
Not only are we still recovering from the lovely and touching statement above, but so are many people who couldn’t keep their comments to themselves on Facebook.
People's Reaction To The Facebook Post
People commended and agreed with the father’s way of thinking. The world has evolved and being an overprotective dad might not necessarily work out anymore. What seems appropriate for this era might be for fathers to teach their kids about how a gentleman should behave and how the girls should be treated as the ladies they are.
This will help raise confident and self-sufficient young women who know when to stay and when to walk away, especially when it comes to relationships.
