Ultimate Beauty of the World
On the 30th of July, the Ultimate Beauty of the World pageant announced its 2018 winners and Kate received the "Teen Ultimate Beauty Of The World" crown.
Speaking to Belfast Live, Diedre said her daughter was breaking barriers in the beauty world. She revealed that Kate even took part in a documentary, titled Role Model, on BBC1, where she expressed her desire to be a model.
It was following this documentary that the Ultimate Beauty of the World contacted Kate to ask her to participate in the contest.
The proceeds from this year's Ultimate Beauty pageant will go to the Make A Wish Foundation. The proud mother said this was one of the reasons why Kate was on board when they called.
The teenage girl had her wish granted when she got to model at the Belfast Fashion Week earlier, and she would like to contribute to helping someone else's wish come true.
Diedre said she never imagined that Kate would win. "I was so overwhelmed," she said, describing what she felt when her daughter's name was called and announced as the winner.
