Words are not the only way through which a human can communicate as facial expressions, body postures, movement, and gestures can also tell a lot.
Simple movements such as the wave of a hand or the rolling of the eyes can pass across a host of feelings to another person.
Body language should be learned as it makes communication easier and smoother and may even give you an upper hand at some point.
However, special attention should be paid to the body language of various cultures because there are differences. Gestures and their meanings vary from place to place.
How to tell who is aggressive and who is not based on body language
At some point in your life, you have probably wished to have an insight into someone without actually talking to them. Well, here are some tips to tell if a person has an aggressive nature by paying close attention to their body posture.
- A person gritting their teeth and shooting their jaw in your direction. If someone has a clenched jaw that is pointing at you, that is most probably your cue to hightail it to safety.
- A flared nose and a puffed up chest are both signs that a person is currently very aggressive and in the mood for a fight. Both actions fill the lungs with more oxygen and load up the blood with more energy that would be needed for a fight.
- If a person's body tightens up, it is a clear sign that such a person is gearing for a fight.
- Rattling and pupil dilation might also warn you of possible aggressive behavior, even though pupil dilation is usually harder to notice.
With these tips, you should now be able to decipher which of these women is most likely to be aggressive from their body language.
If you chose the woman in the middle, then you are correct! She has her chin clenched and jutting out, and this is a non-verbal way of saying ‘back off.’
