There is a reason why stories like this spread like wildfire and touch many hearts. Knowing that there are still people out there who choose to be kind just for the sake of it is sure makes life worth living.

Courtney English, who was eight months pregnant at the time, was surprised after receiving a generous present from an anonymous police officer.

Courtney was at work one day and talking to customers about how excited she was to welcome her baby. What she did not realize was that an officer dining at a nearby table was listening in on the conversation.

When the cop went to pay the bill, he added a $100 tip on his $8.75 bill. Not just that, he also dropped a special note for Courtney which read:

Enjoy your first. You will never forget it.

23-year-old Courtney did not get to say thank you but her father, Brian Cadigan, shared a Facebook Post to express his appreciation for what the officer did for his daughter.

Cadigan told NJ that it was not as much about the money, but about the goodness of the person who chose to do such a thing for a stranger.

He saw she was struggling and a young girl. She was working in a diner while pregnant, standing with that kind of weight on her, and it was his way of saying, ‘I understand your struggle.’

The mom-to-be simply couldn't believe it. She said she barely even talked to the officer. All she did was bring him his menu, take his order and bring him a salad.

I was telling the people at the table behind him that it was my first baby.

Cadigan said that his daughter had been working hard to save up enough money before the little one arrived. The manager of the diner where Courtney worked, Mark Patete, said he knew the officer and that he was a regular customer and a "nice guy."

While thanking the officer on Facebook, Cadigan appreciated him for going above and beyond for a stranger, adding that his respect for cops has increased.

This is one kind act that neither Courtney nor her father will forget anytime soon.
