'I Can't Find The Words': Bank Pays Off $150K In Student Loans For Struggling Single Mother

A single mother named Jasmin Ford has had to struggle financially for many years. While speaking to ABC, she revealed that, although things may be challenging, she gets through by embracing gratitude.

Jasmin recently became a nurse, which she considered her "greatest honor," only second to her having her son, she said. As a nurse and a single mother, Jasmin works two jobs, six days a week to get by.

Apart from putting food on the table, the mom has another big financial responsibility: Her student loans, which come to about $150,000. For a long time, she had no clue how she could even begin to pay them off.

There are times when I fall short and I have to reduce my payment amounts, so there's really not a timeline that I can necessarily see.

Thankfully, help came in the form of a generous bank. The Fifth Third Bank stepped in to take away a big burden from Jasmin. Mike Crawford, a representative of the bank, said that they understood how these loans can slow people down and they were only too happy to help her.

Mike came to Jasmin's home to surprise her so she had no clue about the bank's plans. After talking to her for a while and encouraging her to share her story, Mike broke the good news.

Fifth Third is paying off all of your student loans today.

You could tell that Jasmin was beyond shocked. There were tears of surprise and joy in her eyes as she asked whehter Mike was serious. "Thank you so much," the mom said.

It was an unbelievable moment for Jasmin and her 2-year-old son, Caleb. While speaking to the excited boy, she said:

I can save for your college. You won't be like me, you won't have any debt.

The happy mom revealed that this has completely changed her life. She no longer has to live just "day to day" anymore.

In a Facebook post, she once again expressed her appreciation to the bank:

Thank you Fifth Third Bank for this incredibly gracious gift, for changing the trajectory of my and Caleb’s life. I don’t have the words for the emotion that comes with the gift of a lifetime. You all are amazing people and I will never be able to express my gratitude enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

There is no doubt that Jasmin Ford received a massive blessing from this bank. While all her problems haven't disappeared, the Fifth Third Bank has taken a major pressure off her shoulders and given her a chance to work towards her future instead of paying debts from her past.

It was a Christmas miracle, indeed.
