Indian Businessman Celebrates His Daughter's Wedding By Gifting 90 Houses To The Homeless
While the celebration of wedding ceremonies are usually marked by elaborate feasts that involve enormous sums of money, a wealthy Indian businessman has decided to break from the norm by investing the funds meant for the celebration of his daughter's wedding into a more noble cause.
Ajay Munot who trades in cloth and wheat in the Aurangabad district of Eastern India has donated homes to the poor in the community.
The rich man who was inspired by Prashant Bamb, a young BJP MLA, channeled the fund reserved for his daughter's elaborate wedding into building a home for the poor.
The house which was built on two acres of land cost about £93,000 to erect and is equipped with such essential amenities as light and water. Each cozy home measures 12 by 220 square foot with two windows and two doors.
However, not every poor individual is qualified for the gift. This is because aside from being poor, Mr. Ajay's requirement for consideration also includes that receivers must be free from any forms of addiction and must live in a slum.
Interestingly, the wealthy man's daughter Shreya is with her father in this and is utterly pleased by his generosity. She, therefore, declared her father's action as the most prominent wedding gift she received.
Shreya alongside her husband handed the house keys to the beneficiaries after tying the knot. Without ado, some recipients have moved into their new homes and are enjoying it there.
In a report by the Quint, one beneficiary named Shab Ali Shaikh expressed her delight and how much more comfortable she and her family now live.
Munot’s stride is indeed a great one, and his generosity a life changer to previously homeless individuals.
The wealthy man has proven his kindness with such a commendable feat. Why waste resources when he can improve the lives of others with same? Kudos to the man of excellent thinking!
