While some occupations might not require human contact, there are others which give birth to unsung heroes on a daily basis.
Firefighters are among the most deserving of the title, and are responsible for saving millions of lives worldwide.
They happen to be among a select few whose jobs come with risks to their own lives and well-being.
They battle these blazes and quench them, saving both lives and property in the process, even at the expense of their own safety.
Sometimes, blazes last a short while, but they sometimes can go on for hours or days on end, such as the case in arid areas or fierce fires.
A picture resurfaced on the internet recently and went viral immediately.
The image showed a group of exhausted firefighters catching a little shuteye. This was after working several 24-hour shifts. They were seen sleeping beside each other, using their bags and equipment as pillows.
This is a photo of our Tehachapi Wildland Fire Crew 11. Our crews have worked hundreds of hours to help battle the #thomasfire. These fire fighters work 24 hour shifts and are pushed to the point of exhaustion. Thank you for your dedication and hard work to help the communities of Southern California.
The compelling picture rekindled the appreciation people have for southern California firefighters, whose hard work has made it possible for some people to have their houses and properties saved.
The picture resurfaced as a result of the Woolsey and Hills fire as a reminder of how much these firefighters sacrifice for their jobs.
The picture was posted for the first time in 2017 by the Kern County Fire Department on Instagram to show the Tehachapi Wildland Fire Crew 11, who were first responders. They had been fighting the Thomas Fire in Montecito, California.
Now, in light of the recent fires in California, the picture was returned, and more and more people are expressing their gratitude to Southern California firefighters.
Dancing With The Stars' Val Chmerkovskiy and actor and comedian Kevin Hart uploaded the image to their Instagram along with heartwarming tributes.
Val even went further to ask his followers for suggestions on how firefighters can be helped.
Firefighters do a great job, and their impact has been felt by individuals and families everywhere.
An image is worth a thousand words. . I’ll add a few of my own. As our beautiful state burns there are the ones that are fleeing and those that are going towards the fire, literally. These brave men and women, are truly heroes. The courage, the compassion, and the sense of responsibility that these guys have is absolutely jaw dropping. This image is just a small glimpse of the reality of sacrifice that has to be made by regular people in a position of extraordinary proportion. This is what heroes are made of. . . If anyone has any suggestions on how people can help these folks please let us know in the comments below...
Without their efforts, one can only imagine how much worse the world would be. They deserve all the gratitude and accolades for their valiant service.
