Malaysian Princess Celebrates Her Birthday By Cleaning The Beach And The Internet Is Very Impressed
The Princess of Kedah, a state in Malaysia, is probably one of the most unique princesses you'll ever see.
In 2011, Kedah princess Tunku Puteri Intan Shafinaz Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah made history when she became the first female pro-chancellor at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
She was the 10th person to hold the job and the first woman to do so since the institution was founded in 1970.
Making the world better
Apart from breaking grounds, Princess Tunku is also determined to make the world a little bit better and cleaner. A few days after her birthday in July, the princess of Kedah was pictured picking up trash along a beach in Langkawi.
In the Instagram photo below, Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz was casually-dressed and picking plastic bottles and other rubbish from the beach.
She captioned the picture with "another birthday wish fulfilled" and explained that she and her team were on the beach on a clean-up mission.
Princess Tunku turned 52 on July 22, and this was a really wonderful thing to do to mark her big day.
Fans are applauding her
Her Instagram post, which showed her hard at work, went on to receive more than 2000 likes. Many people were simply amazed by the fact that she put her royal duties on hold to do something so selfless in a bid to help others.
One commenter with the username @rosie_lyn_t said,

The Princess responded to some of these comments, appreciating her fans for their kind words and explaining her motivations.
