Maths quizzes are excellent mind-tasking questions that engage participants while simultaneously improving their thinking faculty.

They are more complicated than they appear to be. You might think they are just a bunch of numbers with mathematical signs linking them to form an equation, but there is more to them. vectorfusionart / Shutterstock.com

Let's find out what you know about solving math problems, shall we? Remember that it is not as simple as it appears to be. Don't say you weren't warned!

Do you think you can solve this tricky math problem?

12 ÷ 2 (5 - 2) =? Although this equation appears to be straightforward, there are sets of rules you must abide by if you are to get the correct answer.

These set of rules are called order of operations, and for the above math quiz, you would apply BODMAS. This acronym represents: spiber.de / Shutterstock.com

1. Brackets
2. Orders (powers and roots)
3. Division
4. Multiplication
6. Subtraction spiber.de / Shutterstock.com

This means that you have to solve each part of the equation according to the arrangement of the math signs in BODMAS.

Therefore, you will begin with the bracketed equation which is (5 - 2) = 3.

Afterward, solve the division '12 ÷ 2’ = 6. Lastly, multiply the answers gotten from both sides, 3 x 6, which is equal to 18! It wasn’t so difficult, right?

Hopefully, you took our advise while solving the math problem, and got the right answer!

Math quizzes are a clever way to challenge your peers in school or colleagues at work, make sure you share this with them!
