Putting Up Holiday Decorations Early Can Ward Depression Off, According To Experts

Do you know when it’s the right time to put up holiday decorations? The right answer is: The sooner the better! According to experts, such a tiny thing as home décor may uplift your mood and make you happier! Do not stop yourself if you feel an urge to plug in the lights, get the candles out and deck the halls with pine branches, even though the holiday is not around the corner!

Christmas is a happy time associated with family gatheringd, miracles, and joy, so  recreating its atmosphere at any time of the year provides you with a positive and peaceful mindset.

According to published research, putting up  holiday decorations encourage people to socialize and get involved in social activities they would otherwise bypass, a change that is beneficial for the brain health as it helps ward off depression and dementia!

Decorations are simply an anchor or pathway to those old childhood magical emotions of excitement. So putting up those Christmas decorations early extends the excitement!

He added that, by decorating our home for the holidays, we evoke  happy emotions which are a good fuel for our health! When we put the lights outside the house, we appear more friendly and open-minded, and attract good people. It’s especially beneficial for elderly who live by themselves and do not have a lot of social interaction. Encouraging them to prepare for the holidays early can make them feel less aloof.
