Dogs Can Recognize A Bad Person Within A Few Moments

Once you bring a dog to your house, it becomes your kids' best friend and a legitimate family member. Pet dogs have their own place to sleep, food to eat, and love to share. They know how to behave appropriately. If not, they can be trained.

If they can learn, can these smarty-pants recognize who is trustworthy, and who isn’t?

We neither speak dog language nor understand them, but we can definitely recognize their emotions and moods. Dogs can express happiness, sadness, guilt, shyness, and jealousy.

They can even recognize pointing gestures. They are able to associate sound and meaning up to 200 words, and they could have told a story if they had been gifted with speech.

It is remarkable that dogs can recognize misleading gestures, too. It means that, if you are trying to fool your puppy, you will lose their trust.

A Japanese researcher has involved 34 dogs in an experiment in which he had two containers: One was empty while the other had food. He pointed to the full one, then to the empty one, and to the full container again.

Most dogs didn’t show any interest to the pointer after he fooled them. The trust was lost within a few moments.

Interestingly, can this concept be applied to people they come in contact with?

Once a dog observes a person who misleads their owner, the pet can recognize and remember them. This person will be labeled as a bad one in the dog’s world.

Our pets are ‘information junkies’. They take in everything we give and believe everything we say. The long history of the human-dog relationship has changed their reaction to various cues and turned puppies into sociable creatures.

If you are lucky enough to have a family member with a tail and paws, you should always treat them right. A dog’s trust is very fragile and deserves your care.
