Some math puzzles just blow our mind. If you need a dose of math for your day, here is a number challenge. Can you guess why these math equations are right?
Here are four of them:
- 8 + 2 = 16106
- 5 + 4 = 2091
- 9 +6 = 54153
- 7 +5 = 35122
After taking a first glance, this chaos of numbers does not make any sense, but look closer and take a moment to match the numbers. The answer is easier than it seems.
Ready to discover the right answer?
Look at the number after the equal sign – it can be split into three numbers actually. For the first equation, it is 16, 10, and 6. If we think about how we can manipulate 8 and 2, the answer comes right away.
8 * 2 = 16; 8 + 2 = 10; 8 – 2 = 6.
All you have to do is to abstract away from the actual equation and use the numbers differently.
It’s fun to sit and try to figure out math puzzles. In fact, it is a great workout for the brain. Thinking back to the school years, we bet you wish the math lessons had been these entertaining. It would make students interact more and engage actively in the process of learning.
On top of that, solving puzzles helps develop strategic thinking, improves memory and abstract thinking. Did you enjoy solving this one? Let us know how quickly you came up with an answer.
