Losing one’s job is never a good thing. Sometimes, what hurts more than getting fired is the manner in which it is done and the reason behind it.
Well, this was the case for Kameisha Denton. The Washington resident was fired from her job for an unbelievable reason. Worse off, the manner in which she was fired was unpalatable!

It all started when Kameisha, an employee at Jersey Mike’s ― a sandwich store ― noticed she was not on the rota. Needing some clarification about that, she decided to reach out to her manager.
Kameisha made her complaint known via a text message to her boss, but little did she know what would befall her next. To her utmost shock, her manager replied with a message saying she was excused from her job.
The reply read:
Hello, I am sorry to inform you but it’s not going to work out with Jersey Mikes. It’s not a good time for us to have someone who is leaving for maternity leave in several months anyway. You also failed to tell me this during our interview. Good luck.
Kameisha was confused and took to Facebook to share her plight. She posted a screenshot of the message with a caption that read:
I usually don’t post personal things like this but is this allowed?
Her post was shared over a 1000 times by users of the platform.
Fate soon caught up with Kameisha’s manager, as he resigned from his job. According to the owner of the franchise, Tim Trieb, what happened to her was against the company’s policy, and it was unacceptable.
Kameisha was offered her old job back, but she turned it down. Luckily for her, ever since she shared her plight on social media, she has received plenty of job offers. Isn’t that awesome?
Although Denton was able to get justice for what was done to her, we never can tell how many women are facing the same plight without any help. It is awful that women still face such discrimination at the workplace in the 21st century!
