Another Royal Wedding Has Been Announced: Queen Elizabeth's Cousin Is Set To Tie The Knot

Date September 20, 2018

The season of engagement is still alive in the British royal family, guys. As it turns out, Princess Eugenie's upcoming wedding is not the only one royla fans look forward to. Another royal family member has announced her engagement.

Yet another wedding announcement

The Kensington Palace has announced that Lady Gabriella Windsor and Mr. Thomas Kingston are getting married. A statement obtained by People confirmed the impending nuptials:

Prince and Princess Michael of Kent are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter Lady Gabriella Windsor to Mr. Thomas Kingston. The engagement took place in August; Mr. Kingston proposed on the Isle of Sark.

We will have to wait for a little for this one though, as the wedding itself will be taking place in the Spring of 2019, the statement said.

Who is Lady Gabriella Windsor?

The new bride is the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. Prince Michael is Queen Elizabeth's first cousin which means that,  technically, Lady Gabriella is Her Majesty's first cousin once removed.

Not only is Lady Gabriella to the Queen, but she also happens to be close to Prince Harry and Prince William. In addition, Prince Michael of Kent is a distant relative of Prince Philip. Talk about a long line of royal blood!

Another interesting fact is that Lady Gabriella shares her birthday with the Queen - April 23. Lady Gabriella, however, was born in 1981.

She is also in line to the British throne, but we highly doubt she'll ever get there. When Prince Louis was born, Prince Michael was bumped down to 46th in line while Lady Gabriella moved to position 50. But they are both obviously close to the royals as they often join the rest of the most prominent members of the family on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Lady Gabriella is also one of those royals who, like Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, have jobs outside the usual royal duties. She's a writer whose work has appeared in several major platforms like the Sunday Telegraph, Hello (Spanish) and Country Life.

Congratulations to the soon-to-be-wed duo. So many happy things to celebrate among the royals these days!
